Hi, all! For our last round-up post, we kind of switched things up a bit, focusing on posts of our own from the blog that we really enjoyed from 2017. However, there was a lot of great content that came out in December, so we felt that it would be a huge shame if we just passed over the month altogether. To fix that, we decided to do a combined post for December 2017 and January 2018, and man were there some solid picks for this one. Get ‘em while they’re hot (from the last two months but hey they’re still warm in our hearts)!
Hey all. General Tofu here, and I’m back from the dead! For our December monthly round-up, we decided to do things a bit differently. 2017 has been a bit of a dumpster fire in some respects, and we really wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some of the great things that came out of this year, including both shows we enjoyed, as well as posts we wrote and are pretty proud of. For brevity’s sake, we each have selected three shows each that aired this year (and one that didn’t) that we highly recommend, as well as three posts from our blog this year that we want to signal boost a bit, so help us ring in the new year with some good anime recommendations and some sweet Aniblogger content!
Hey everyone, Mythos here. November went by and you may have noticed a lack of updates on our part. It’s funny, the three of us started this blog specifically because we enjoyed talking with each other about anime so much, we wanted to share our thoughts and talk to others about it. Sadly, we’ve been pretty mute, haven’t we? Continue reading
Yep, it’s that time once again folks! We’re still trying to get the remaining spooks out of our system as October finishes itself out, but just like the many, various candies of Halloween being handed out, we at the Backloggers are handing out sweet, delicious anime articles! Yeah, they’re not exactly tasty like candies, but hopefully you’ll find a post that fits your tastes just like that favorite candy of yours.
The month of September has been pretty crazy in the Anisphere, the industry, and the meatspace altogether. As a result of said craziness, Owningmatt93 was not able to join us in our monthly roundup post (RIP in peace), but we have persevered and found ourselves a pretty broad variety of fascinating content, so much so that we weren’t able to include all of the picks that we wanted to here!
You want an in-depth look at Mari Okada? It’s here. You want to strap back into the 2000’s and dig into a jazzy AMV? Bub, we’ve got you covered. Do you want some perspective on that Death Note movie that came out on Netflix? God help you, but we’ve got that for you, too. Do you want to get academic, or talk about love, or dig into some talk about taboo and masochism, or other neat stuff? Strap yourselves in, because boy have we got it covered. Whatever the case, you’re sure to find something that tickles your fancy here, so give it a look, and check out some of these pieces that we couldn’t get enough of this month!
Hey, Mythos here!
Well, it’s another month in the Anisphere and there’s been a ton of new and awesome content to check out! It seems like every month there’s just more and more incredible analyses, entertaining videos, and in-depth podcasts that I’m having trouble wading through the sea of content. I love it, though, and I think it speaks to the incredible love the world has for a medium that started so little on a small collection of islands in the pacific.
Well, given how much there is to look at, we Backloggers thought we’d take it upon ourselves to point out a few. So grab a beer and a cowboy hat as we have ourselves a hot dang hootenanny and round up of few of ‘em rascals for y’all’s viewin’ pleasure. Ignore the Texan bleeding through and let’s get started with a choice pick from all of us at the Backloggers!
Hey ya’ll, welcome to our anime content round-up, a new sort of post that we’re doing!
In similar veins to other anime bloggers, this will be a collection of all the articles, videos, and creators that we wanted to give mention to for their outstanding content and also gives us a way to thank them for the work they’ve put into these pieces. Of course, there’s tons more content and content creators than just these that we’d love to mention, but to keep these posts brief for your sanity and ours, we limited to five for each of us.
Since there’s three of us at The Backloggers, we also will be rotating out who picks the notable posts each time (and also who writes these little intros). There will likely be times where all three of us will contribute to the same month, but that will not necessarily always happen, but we’ll try to provide at least two people’s choices and switch around who does them for variety. These choices will be personal picks, either something we find interesting, thought-provoking, or just unique in terms of their content, and then we’ll talk a little bit about why we chose each article.
Anyway, enough with the obligatory info dump. Let’s move on to our picks, starting with Mythos.
